Art in Public Places

The Sonoran Arts League believes that artistic awareness is essential to life and community and is committed to advancing artists, art, and art education.  As part of its Art in Public Places program, the League installs rotating exhibitions throughout the year at the Gallery at Desert Foothills Library, the Gallery at el Pedregal, and the Town of Cave Creek.  All exhibits are open to the public and free admission.

The Town Cave Creek

In collaboration with The Town of Cave Creek, the Sonoran Arts League artists have installed two entry monument sculptures by Mark Carroll and are making plans to add additional locations for the installation of outdoor art throughout the town. Additional public art by Sonoran Arts League artists and Cave Creek artists will be coming soon.
Now open, please visit Town Hall and throughout their public buildings for the newest rotation of “Art in Public Places” by Sonoran Arts League members.

A rotating series of installations at the Desert Foothills Library highlight the artwork of League members.  Four times a year the works of dozens of artists are selected for display and sale.  Each 3-month show has a unique theme.  Artists’ works are selected through an application and jury process. The exhibits include a broad range of mediums, techniques and styles.  The Fall exhibit features work by artists participating in the League’s signature event, Hidden In The Hills Studio Tour & Sale.  The Desert Foothills Library also serves as the site of the Youth Art Exhibition as Studio #1 during the annual Hidden In The Hills Tour, featuring an installation of 2-D artwork by students in the Cave Creek Unified School district and local charter schools.
